Our Creative team have worked tirelessly to produce our latest trade catalogue – it’s beautiful and and we are very proud if it! In this week’s blog Jess, our Creative Manager, reveals some behind the scenes images taken from the Autumn Winter 2013 shoot. The lifestyle photo shoot plays a key role in bringing the product to life and Jess spends considerable time exploring the surrounding area, looking for interesting homes that fit the Nkuku brand. Finding these fantastic locations has the added benefit of introducing us to the charming owners, the creators of these beautiful homes that contain so much character, style and originality. A location can inspire so many stunning shots.

“The project was a vast challenge with 300 new products to shoot but it was also good fun! Above I’m preparing the beautiful Chunti wreath for it’s shot! The wreath is made up of 200 glass baubles-  the important thing was to capture the rustic silver finish and show just how beautiful the wreath really is.  Anna, our fantastic photographer and I work well together and it’s not long before we fall into a rhythm.

This beautiful rustic doorway complete with natural floral border was the perfect backdrop for the shot.

The next product was the alphabet tags. I found this iron curtain rail in the doorway of a beautiful gypsy caravan hidden away at the bottom of the garden. It made the perfect place to hang the tags.

Here is the finished image. It will work brilliantly for Christmas.

Sometimes a pair of hands is the best solution! Here Ella, who joined us on work experience, literally lends a hand!

Now the secret’s out but it looks great! Who knew!

A tree branch works beautiful for displaying decorations, it’s natural elegance really sets off the decorations. We have such a broad selection of Christmas decorations and it’s great to display them in a free and eclectic fashion.  I fell in love with this wall as a back drop and you might see it in quite a few of our Nkuku shots!

Here is the finished shot, the light is beautiful and the shot is lovely and Christmassy.

This was an amazing location – a beauitful old jetty in the most stunning garden but trying to light t - lights on a very windy day proved a bit of a challenge!

We gave up and and decided to re shoot complete with t lights inside this time!

For some reason a cat always seems to show up in ALL our photo shoots. This ginger tabby was happy to help out with display!

Once we had managed to persuade our friend away Anna got the shot and our feline friend got that attention he required from Ella!

These are just few shots of the images we took, for more please take a look at”  Thanks, Jess.
